Let’s talk about Human Rights

This photo causes so much anger and rage in me.  Not because of the men chained, but that it is happening again today and we are as apathetic to the sufferings now as the people were then.  And it is this apathy that allows such atrocities.

And in 100 years, our great grandchildren will see the “enemy combatants” and the brothers of Guantanamo Bay, or Baghram Prison, or Abu Ghurayb or any other secret or known prison that exists and the now legal tortures of innocent men women and children and their rapes and their murders and their mistreatment and shake their heads the same way that people today are shaking their heads at these photos.

Apathy is deadly
